The American Society for Quality has recognized New Haven ASQ Section 305
for achieving the “Total Quality” designation in their SMP program. In addition
we have also met the SMP Section Basics requirements.
The Section Management Process (SMP) is a tool utilizing the Plan-Do-Check-
Act cycle of planning and implementing services and programs for the section
and its members on a timely basis. It requires a prioritized management plan,
documentation of activities and goals, and measurement of accomplishments
and member satisfaction.
The award is recognition for participation and performance excellence. “Total
Quality” is the highest award designation in the program.
