

Chair & NEQC Rep - Nick Squeglia holds a PE license, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt by ASQ, CQE by
ASQ, CQA by ASQ, and has degrees in Ind. Eng. and Ind. Mgnt. He was Section Chairman between
2000 and 2002, and has served in all board positions. He has taught CQE and other courses in the
past for the section, and currently conducts seminars. Except for a period as Director of Quality for
the NYC Transportation Administration, he has held manufacturing positions. His last Manufacturing
position was as Dir. of Quality for a large full service first tier supplier to Ford, Chrysler, and other
automotive companies. He presently provides in-house training in six-sigma, MSA, FMEA, SPC and
consults in ISO9001:2000, AS9100, TS16949 as well as auditing. He is the originator and author of
"Zero Acceptance Number (c=0) Sampling plans" published by ASQ Press.
Vice Chair & Internet Liaison - Jay Krishnamoorthy is a member of ASQ since 2003, serving on
the Board of Directors for Section 305 since 2004 and as our Internet Liaison since May 2007.Jay
Krishnamoorthy obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree from India and MBA from University of
New Haven. He has worked in several industries and fields such as Robotics, Audio (Creative
Labs), Medical (GE ), USB devices etc. as a development engineer, quality manager and in several
other roles.In his previous job as a World Wide Quality Manager for a multinational company, he
implemented Quality Management systems and got ISO9000:2000 Certification successfully for all
sites, through TUV America. He also re-engineered the business processes through out the
company. He is currently with Pexagon Technology, Inc. as General Manager responsible for all
aspects of USB flash drives business.
Secretary & Health Care Liaison - Julie Petrellis has been an ASQ member since 2003 and serves
as the Secretary and Health Care Liaison. Julie is currently Director, Quality Improvement for the
Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA). Previously, Julie was Quality Management Coordinator at
Windham Community Memorial Hospital in Willimantic, CT. Julie is a registered nurse with experience in
various clinical areas including medical/surgical, critical care and discharge planning. She has held
management positions in nursing administration, critical care and discharge planning and social work.
She attended Villanova University for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the University of Hartford
for a Master of Science in Nursing and Organizational Behavior. Julie has held certifications in Critical
Care Nursing and Nursing Administration and is currently a Certified Practitioner in health care Quality by
the National Association of health care Quality.
Treasurer, Membership & Certification Chair - Randy Messinger currently serves on the ASQ New
Haven board as Treasurer and Membership and Certification/Recertification Chairs. Randy joined the
ASQ-NH Board in September of 2004. She is currently self-employed at Matrix Enterprises, LLC providing
a variety of financial, tax and office services, quality auditing and process improvement consulting to
small and micro-enterprises. Randy spent 13 years as a bookkeeper and associate accountant.
After completing an Associates in Electrical Engineering, she went on to combine the accounting and
engineering skills for 20 years in a corporate Global Quality Management organization where she
specialized in Security and Process Audit/Improvement and earned her Quality Auditor Certification.
Randy currently also serves as Treasurer of the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA).
Audit & Immediate Past Chair - Jim Zelem has been a member of ASQ since 1994 and was section
chair in 2007-2008. He is employed by Cengage Learning and is responsible for operations including
manufacturing, purchasing, quality, shipping, inventory, maintenance and facilities. Jim has an
Associate degree in Computer Engineering and a BSEET (Electrical Engineer Technology) from
Milwaukee School of Engineering. Jim has over 25 years experience with identifying problems,
continuous process improvements, creating dashboards, managing processes and building teams.
Additionally, Jim has taught several classes in team building and supervision.
Advisor & Past Chair - Linda Pello has been an ASQ member since 1991 and is currently the Past
Section Chair. She is retired and is a consultant in health care quality. Most recently, Linda was the
Director of Quality Improvement at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT from 1992 to 2004.
Prior to this position, Linda held various staff and supervisory positions with Nursing Departments
and extensive experience in health care Quality and related fields. She is a R.N. with an
undergraduate degree in Health Administration from Quinnipiac College and a Masters in Business
Administration from the University of New Haven. She has held certification as a certified
practitioner in Infection Control and is currently a Certified Practitioner in health care Quality. She is
past chairman of the Quality Conference at the Connecticut hospital Association, Past President of
the Connecticut Association for health care Quality and representative to Leadership Council of the
National Organization for health care Quality. Linda received the 2004 Gail Greene Distinguished
Member Award recognizing notable contributions made to the health care quality profession from the
CT Association for Health care Quality.
Placement Chair - Gene Contardi has been an ASQ member since 1977. He has served on the
ASQNHS board since 1993, starting out as Section Management Chair and later serving as
Arrangements Chair. Gene is currently Placement Chair. He is a Certified Quality Engineer, Certified
Quality Auditor, and Certified Business Manager. Gene has a BSEE from Michigan Technological
University, an MBA from the University of New Haven and is employed by DCMA of Middletown, CT.
SMP & Nominating Chair - Jerry Clupper is Vice President of SSI Consulting Group Inc. who offers
consulting, training and software products for business clients. An early practitioner of statistical
management, he specializes in process control, stainless steel metallurgy and quality systems. He
has 40 years of "hands on" practical experience in management, operations and consulting. Jerry is
responsible for our Section Management Plan and has been a long time member of ASQ. He is a
current board member of several other professional organizations and has been a national Chapter
Relations Committee chairman for ASM International. He is a certified Quality Engineer and Certified
Quality Auditor with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Programs and Arrangements - Jim Petropoulos has been an ASQ member since 1998. He has
served on the ASQNHS board since 2002 and is currently our Programs and Arrangements chair
person. Employed with Atlantic Inertial Systems , Jim works as a software engineer in the design
and development of computer based gyroscope equipment. Jim has a BSEE from Lowell University,
and an MSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also is a Certified Software Quality Engineer
(CSQE) by ASQ.
Newsletter Chair - Larry Spinello has been an ASQ member since 1997 where he has held
Executive Board positions as Vice Chair for one year, followed by 2 years as Chairman. Currently he
is running the Newsletter Chair. Larry has worked in the Defense Industry for a number of years as a
Quality Assurance Specialist for the Federal Government, primarily in the electronics and software
fields.
Publicity - Bill Folsom has been a member of ASQ since 1982 and currently serves as the section's
Secretary. He became active on the Board in 1993, and since then he has been Programs Chair,
Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Chair, and Chairman. He currently works for the Defense Contract
Management Agency. Bill has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Sacred Heart University in
Fairfield, and is a CQE, CQA, and CSQE.
